The Dominick Hotel in New York City Earns Green Seal® Certification
August 22, 2018
(NEW YORK, NY – August 22, 2018) The Dominick, a luxury hotel located at the crossroads of Manhattan’s vibrant SoHo, TriBeCa and West Village neighborhoods, is proud to announce that it is the newest recipient of the prestigious Green Seal® Bronze certification. The Dominick is only the second hotel in New York to receive this distinction, which underscores its commitment to providing personalized, luxury service that is equally rooted in sustainability as well.
The Green Seal was created in 1989 as a code of standards for businesses to minimize the impact of waste and toxins in their daily operations. In order to attain certification, rigorous benchmarks must be met which pledge to utilizing sustainable, efficient and recyclable services. Evaluation is based upon assorted factors including waste minimization, pollution prevention, energy conservation, eco-friendly purchasing, and management of water resources.
The Dominick’s Bronze accolade demonstrates a commitment to this very philosophy. Such efforts include offering complimentary electronic access to newspapers; the use of renewable energy throughout the building; ensuring water rates in flow at a moderate level; offering guests the opportunity to participate in the towel and linen reuse program; and automatic lights in all offices. The property also uses the ORCA food waste management system, which funnels refuse through environmentally safe waters and into Manhattan’s sewage, thus reducing landfill waste.
“The Dominick recognizes its responsibility to be environmentally conscious, both to guests and New Yorkers alike,” says Dant Hirsch, General Manager of the hotel. “We’re incredibly pleased to be credited with the Green Seal as it only re-emphasizes our promise in delivering an exceptional guest experience.”
